Tascam TC-8 Chromatic Tuner

The Tascam TC-8 and TGT-7 will make their appearance on store shelves in December 2010. Both models offer fast detection, built in microphone, built in metronome, and a 5" wide backlit LCD screen. Four available display modes including Bargraph, Fine, Strobe Animation and Needle make precise tuning a snap.

The TC-8 makes an ideal classroom teaching aid. A fully chromatic tuner with eight tuning modes, including historic and alternate tunings, the TC-8 includes a calibration mode that allows you to tune to a piano or other instrument. Tuning modes include Equal Temperament, Pythagorean, Mean tone, Werckmeister III, Kirnberger III, Kellner, Vallotti, and Youngalso. An oscillator generates pitches through the built in speaker for classroom tuning. The TC-8 also provides a metronome through it's built in speaker with a 30-300 BPM range and 7 different accent selections. The LCD display conducts the beat for visual feedback and a Tap Tempo function allows you to determine the metronome settings for your own music. The TC-8 also includes 1/4" input jack, a tripod mount, a flip out stand, and a music stand clip.

Reporters from around the world have come together to issue the 11th Annual MIPA awards, honoring the best in audio and musical products. Announced on the evening of March 25th selections were made from 3 candidates in each of the product categories. Representatives of manufactures and distributors from numerous countries were present making this a truly international affair. A special lifetime achievement award was given to Hartley Peavey of Peavey electronics for a liftime of contributions to the music industry. The most coveted award, "Most Innovative Product", was won by TC Electronics for their Polytune electronic tuner. One strum and you can tune all 6 strings of your guitar at once.
