to Improve the Electronic Music Instrument Service
Industry
I. Purpose
MITA, International is a non-profit organization. The purpose of the
organization shall be to improve the electronic musical instrument
service industry by:
- 1. Developing ongoing seminars for technical and
professional development.2. Helping technicians provide the best possible
electronic musical instrument service, in an ethical way, while
fostering the customer's needs and best interest..3. Providing a vehicle for exchange of technical
expertise, ideas, service, information and hard-to-find parts.4. Promoting music and the use of all electronic musical
instruments.5. Providing improved communications between the
members, manufacturers and customers.
II. Organization
MITA is a professional association. The leadership is comprised of elected officers
who reside in various parts of the country. MITA also encourages local chapters.
III. Seminars
Each year MITA sponsors, in association with the musical instrument
manufacturers, one or more technical seminars held in various regions
of the country. The seminars are approximately five days in duration.
Multiple sessions are conducted to best meet the technical needs of
all participants.
IV. Publication
MITA publishes the quarterly MITA-TECH Journal. The MITA-TECH
provides technical articles and service information on a variety of
current and older electronic instruments. The MITA-TECH also accepts
advertising from vendors who support the industry. Classified ads are
included to promote job placements and to facilitate the search for
specialized service or obsolete parts. Arrangements concerning the
dates and topics of the annual seminars are published well in advance
for planning and budgeting purposes.
V. Membership
Membership is available to technicians who are involved with the servicing of
electronic musical instruments. The annual dues are currently $150.00 per year
(going to $165.00 per year January 1, 2009).
