Piano Tuners Guild Convention 2009

52nd Annual PTG Convention and Technical Institute

Excellence Begins With The Basics
July 15-19, 2009
Grand Rapids, Michigan

Fellow PTG members:

Believe it or not, planning is already well underway for the next PTG convention and we want to involve you in the development of a first-rate Institute for 2009. We will offer classes to increase your knowledge in everything from tuning, regulation, and voicing to classes that will expand your understanding of design, rebuilding, and business skills. The Institute selects the finest classes from around the country, and the world, to help make you the technician you've always wanted to be. But, we need your input to make sure your needs are part of the program. If you have ideas, suggestions, or wish to volunteer a class for consideration, now is the time for action. Here’s a few of the things we’d like to know:

- What classes have you attended that demonstrate excellence?
- What can we offer to help raise your level of excellence?
- Who is the best instructor you have ever seen teach?
- What skills should you learn to increase your income?
- What can we offer to help you achieve RPT?
- What can we do to encourage you to be in Grand Rapids next summer?
- Is there a class not normally offered that we should provide?
- What classes can we offer that would entice you to attend?

We want to hear from you no later than August 20, so please contact us soon at institute@ptg.org. Our planning meeting takes place in September, so now is the time to voice your opinions.

Visit the 2009 convention site at www.ptg.org/conv/2009 to learn more about this upcoming Institute. Bookmark it and check often for updates.

I look forward to seeing each of you in Grand Rapids, July 15-19, 2009!

Yours in Excellence,
Ward Guthrie, RPT
Institute Director, 2009
